Introduction to NCLL

To support the deployment of private wireless networks in Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has designed a non-competitive local licensing (NCLL) process to provide a simple spectrum licensing approach to allow small operators and businesses easy access to 5G wireless spectrum and beyond.

Using NCLL spectrum organizations can deploy their own private wireless networks using cutting edge 5G technology to support business operations and enable new capabilities including those needed to support Industry 4.0 adoption.

What does Star Solutions offer?

NCLL spectrum is based on the frequency range of 3900 – 3980MHz. This is a 5G frequency band defined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) as n77/N77.

Star Solutions offers 5G Stand Alone network equipment so that organizations can deploy their own 5G cellular wireless network. Applications include delivering wireless connectivity for:

  • Fixed Wireless Broadband / WISP operations
