Star Solutions delivers LTE and GSM “last mile” technology for mobile broadband services
Richmond, Canada. October 26, 2016 – SSi Micro Ltd., the premier communications services provider in Northern Canada, has chosen Star Solutions of British Columbia to supply its new 4G LTE Data and GSM Voice network infrastructure. Using the latest wireless technology, SSi will help bridge the digital divide between the North and the south of Canada by enabling new communications services for consumers, business and government, including high performance broadband, mobile voice and data, telemetry applications, video conferencing, and more.
SSi delivers communications services across a satellite backbone, which provides a unique challenge for the real-time and large capacity applications required with mobile 4G broadband. By leveraging the Star Solutions virtualized packet core in conjunction with our own software, over a distributed network, SSi benefits from reduced operational costs, increased network performance and better network resiliency.
The latest in LunchBox™ solution with LTE and IP-PBX capabilities
Richmond, B.C., October 13, 2016 – Star Solutions announced its LunchBox product which enables rapid deployment of two-way communications in command centers for emergency or incident response. Built on a ruggedized case, the LunchBox is also lightweight, waterproof and battery powered. For network connectivity, the LunchBox is 3G/4G cellular backhaul enabled and has additional Ethernet ports for connecting computing and communications devices.
Four of the Ethernet ports are Power over Ethernet capable allowing users to connect and power IP phones and other PoE based devices. A built in call manager provides IP-PBX features and functions to enable users to make calls to the outside world within minutes of operation. The cellular backhaul is shared between all devices connected to the LunchBox.
The Star Solutions team has participated in a number of Public Safety industry demonstrations and conferences in 2016. If you are interested in seeing our deployables in action, contact our team and let’s see how we can help you out!
The PSCR team in Colorado leverages our deployables to help set up demonstration or temporary networks to showcase public safety broadband networks at work. They discuss deployables recently in a NIST blog entry, the “Rapidly Deployable Public Safety Research Platform” is powered by our deployable system and showcases potential users how enabling broadband can be reliable and easy!
Earlier in May our team supported the XPSLTE 2016 event hosted by Firstnet Colorado. Here’s a recap video that the Firstnet Colorado team posted recently.
We’re not done yet, next month in October, Star Solutions will be exhibiting deployable broadband Band 14 LTE network equipment at IACP San Diego (Booth 3756).
