PSCR Procures Star Solutions LTE Deployable Systems LTE Deployable Systems used in testing and demonstration activities. The Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Lab in Boulder Colorado, under the National Institute of Science and Technology procures Star Solutions LTE Band 14 IMPAC and COMPAC 3U deployable systems for testing and demonstrations to PSBN groups.

The PSCR team in Colorado leverages our deployables to help set up demonstration or temporary networks to showcase public safety broadband networks at work. They discuss deployables recently in a NIST blog entry, the “Rapidly Deployable Public Safety Research Platform” is powered by our deployable system and showcases potential users how enabling broadband can be reliable and easy!

While intended primarily for search and rescue deployment activities, the COD can also be used to deliver SMS Broadcast messages in a disaster response scenario to locations with little or no cell coverage.

Rural Broadband: Keeping it Simple
The Canadian federal government recently announced its strategy, Digital Canada 150, to enable Canadians to take full advantage of the opportunities of the digital age. One of the five pillars of the strategy, titled Connecting Canadians, highlights enabling broadband Internet services for 280,000 Canadian households in rural and remote areas. Affordable connectivity in rural and remote parts of Canada is a challenge.
